Our Story

Kamp Homeware started in late 2021 when Dan, the seafarer turned artisan, and Amy the interior designer turned graphic designer, decided to join forces and create something larger than the sum of their parts.

Together in the Hout Bay valley they create beautiful handmade and furniture that is equal parts minimal and complex in the nature of the design process. They love to create works that are practical, pleasing to the eye, and made to last.

Each piece is unique and has a story to tell. The wood used is often reclaimed or comes from alien trees that are felled and used for firewood. A few pieces were even made from fallen trees in some particularly bad Cape Town storms.

They give the overlooked wood a second life, turning firewood into furniture pieces that bring lasting warmth and character into your home.

Dan and Amy are passionate about making pieces that make the mundane a little more beautiful so your home can feel thoughtful and inspiring every day.
